Ridge Vents
Peak performers
in ventilation.
A
ridge vent runs
the entire length
of the roof peak,
blending into
the roofline for
a more attractive
home. Years of
research prove
that a ridge vent
with external
baffles and an
internal weather
filter, combined
with undereave
venting, is the
most efficient
system you can
install.
Ridge
Vent Benefits:
-
Works
year-round
-
Provides
evenly distributed
ventilation
along
the entire underside
of the
roof
-
18
square
inches
of net free
area
per
linear foot
(depending
on
type
and model)
-
Slim
design,

appeal
-
Provides
a higher
volume of
airflow per
square foot
of attic
area than
any other
fixed-vent system
-
Design
maximizes
airflow
across the
entire underside
of roof
sheathing
-
Changes
in wind
direction
have
no significant
effect on
vent performance
-
Ridge
vents
must have
an external
baffle
to
deflect
weather
away from
the attic
and
to create
low pressure
over
the vent
openings
to help
pull
air out
of the
attic
-
May

on steep
hip
roofs
-
With
all roofs,

ridge
vents along
the
entire
length
of ridge
for
best performance
and
appearance.
(With vaulted
or
cathedral
ceilings:
Each attic
[joist]
cavity
must be
ventilated,
leaving
1-1/2" between
sheathing
and insulation.)

Improper
Ventilation
The
photo’s shown below were taken by the Strander
Roofing and Seamless Gutters LLC Team. This mold was
found during a roof inspection the home owner did not
know that they had mold in there attic. These photo’s
show what may happen if you have improper ventilation!

Mold on the interior of the gable end

Mold
on the interior of the roof sheeting

Proper
Vents were installed improperly on eve ends

Given
the drastic amount of mold on the interior of this roof,
much of the sheeting and the roof and gable ends needed
to be replaced.
Strander Roofing and Seamless Gutters prides
itself on being experts in ventilation to prevent this
type of costly and early roof replacement.
Insulation
Options
Strander
Roofing & Seamless Gutters
LLC. uses Insulsafe Fiberglass Insulation. This is what
it can do for your home. During a roof replacement or
repair we are able to access the attic through the
roof rather
than running the hose through the interior of the home.
Call us to see if you have the proper amount of insulation
in your home and take advantage of the Tax Credit before
it ends!
- Maximizes
the performance of your heating and cooling system.
- Lasts
for the life of your home which improves energy efficiency
and reduces
your energy costs.
- Will
not rot, decay, corrode or settle.
- Excellent
sound control to make your home quieter.
- Certified
for superior indoor air quality and regularly tested
by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute for superior
indoor air quality and low emissions of potential indoor
air pollutants.
- Meets
local and federal standards and is regularly
tested by the National Association of Home Builders
(NAHB) Research Center to verify the insulation performs
as stated.
- Lifetime
warranty covers manufacturing defects; see warranty
for terms and conditions.
